SAP BASIS Administrator’s role will assume the responsibility for achieving expected outcomes related to overall SAP platform technical administration and optimizing Medtronic’s investment from the technical landscape. The candidate is expected to perform the duties and responsibilities of an SAP Basis Administrator for the SAP NetWeaver ABAP and Java systems. This includes production and non-production systems support within Diabetes SAP environment and supporting all SAP projects for Production and Non-Production environments. The Prin. SAP Basis administrator will perform project related initiatives as needed. This role also consists of additional responsibilities to include providing technical expertise and direction to other team members, ensuring appropriate SOPs/checklists are in-place and followed and leading strategic initiatives as requested by SAP Basis team management. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Responsible for leading and executing all SAP BASIS projects for Medtronic Diabetes SAP ECC, BW, CRM, PI/PO and Solution Manager systems. Extensive experience in understanding, evaluating and remediating SAP and operating system vulnerabilities. Primary resource for collaborating with Medtronic security teams. Ensure all projects meet the timeline and are completed within allocated budget. Experience in installing and configuring SAP monitoring tools and dashboard reporting. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems and risks to the environment. This may include working cross functionally with other technology teams, geographies, and disciplines. Responsible for developing and maintaining the technical details for SOPs (refresh, migrations, configuration, installs, etc.) and ensure are followed to maintain a viable system Ability to explain complex technical solutions and architecture strategies to non-technical resources. Plan and participate into scheduled maintenance activities. Execute tasks per plan. Provide technical expertise and direction to drive effective operations related to support activities. Balance responsibilities of technical leadership and hands-on administration to maintain/support the SAP environment including troubleshooting problems, escalating open issues, implementing solutions, and optimize the system for maximum performance. Work with other related technology teams displaying insight and knowledge to understand and influence technical direction and strategy. Able to work independently as well as cooperatively. Serve as liaison to vendor support/technical staff to escalate, analyze, and resolve issues. Experience with SAP archiving using Open Text archiving tool. Provide insight and demonstrated knowledge to influence various strategies including. SAP Environment Planning including creation, refreshes, back-up, and recovery. SAP Roadmap outlining the timing for upgrades, service/enhancement packs, and implementation of new modules Transport Management Strategy Required Knowledge and Experience: 10+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor’s Degree. Experience administering SAP systems running on RHEL/Oracle. Experience in administering SAP Portal, SAP NWDI. Experience with Solution Manger 7.2. SAP system sizing and performance tuning. Experience administering SAP HANA systems Advanced degree in Computer Science or business-related discipline. Experience working in the Medical Device Industry or other regulated industry Demonstrated capability working with SAP administrative tools including Solution Manager SAP system related issue troubleshooting and performance tuning Excellent oral and written communication skills.
