BDR / Sales Representative (Marketplace & E-commerce Platforms)

As a BDR / Sales Representative, you will play a key role in identifying and driving new business opportunities. Your experience with B2B marketplace platforms such as Alibaba or ThomasNet and familiarity with manufacturing and e-commerce will be instrumental in helping us expand our client base. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new partners and continual growth in sales.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Generation & Prospecting
• Identify and qualify prospective clients in the manufacturing, industrial, and e-commerce sectors.
• Leverage various channels—such as cold calling, social media, networking events—to build a robust sales pipeline.
• Sales Outreach & Relationship Building
• Conduct sales presentations and product demos tailored to prospective clients’ needs.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Marketplace Expertise
• Utilize knowledge of platforms like Alibaba or ThomasNet to communicate value propositions effectively.
• Recommend best practices for onboarding onto B2B marketplaces, focusing on user engagement and growth strategies.
• Negotiation & Closing
• Prepare and present compelling proposals, ensuring terms and pricing align with both client needs and company objectives.
• Negotiate contracts and follow through until deals are successfully closed.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
• Work closely with Marketing, Operations, and Product teams to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
• Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform product improvements.
• Pipeline & CRM Management
• Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions using a CRM platform.
• Monitor and report on key metrics (e.g., conversion rates, revenue targets), providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
• Industry & Market Analysis
• Stay updated on industry trends, particularly in manufacturing and e-commerce, to effectively position our solutions.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and contribute to strategic planning for new product offerings or partnerships.
• Performance & Reporting
• Regularly track and report on sales performance, including weekly/monthly pipeline reviews.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to adjust strategies based on sales data and customer feedback.
Key Qualifications:
• Experience
• Minimum of 2-4 years in B2B sales, business development, or similar roles.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, preferably in marketplace or e-commerce environments.
• Marketplace & E-commerce
• Familiarity with platforms like Alibaba, ThomasNet, or similar B2B marketplaces.
• Understanding of manufacturing supply chains and e-commerce business models is highly desirable.
• Sales Skills
• Strong prospecting, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to tailor sales pitches to diverse industries and client needs.
• Relationship Management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a knack for building rapport.
• Experience in managing long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
• Technical & Analytical Skills
• Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales enablement software.
• Comfort with analyzing data to optimize sales funnels and identify new opportunities.
