A Day in the Life This role is a member of the Contract Center of Excellence team within the Supply Management Solutions team of Medtronic’s Global Supply Management Group. It reports to the Sr. Manager, Supply Management Solutions and will be exposed to a wide variety of contracting activities for many commodities and services supporting Medtronic strategic purchasing. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Provides contract management support to assigned categories within Supply Management; includes drafting contracts on standard templates, reviewing supplier red-lines with legal team to ensure they meet guidelines, routing final contracts for signatures and ensuring contracts are correctly archived in the Ariba Contract Management System. Communicates status of contract requests with internal stakeholders and works to meet business objectives and timelines with a service mindset. Mitigates risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition. SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically, an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower-level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects – from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education. Makes adjustments or recommends enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area. Communication and Influence: Communicates primarily and frequently with internal as well as supplier contacts; External interactions are less complex or problem solving in nature. Contacts others proactively to share information, status, needs and issues in order to inform, gain input, and translate business requirements into supplier-facing content in support of quality-based decision making. Leadership and Talent Management: May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and / or employee in Support or Category Management Career Streams. Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience. Experience with Ariba Contracts or another ERP contracting platform preferred. Experience with strategic sourcing and contracting, supplier relationship management or other SAP Ariba applications are all a plus.
