Summary We are seeking a Mid-level Transmission Planning Engineer for multiple office locations with remote work options available. Candidates can indicate their preferred location in the application. Must work within USA, preferably Texas Roles and Responsibilities - Lead network studies for utilities and ISOs - Interface with engineers to prepare computer-based models - Conduct various power system studies: - Feasibility - System impact - Reactive compensation - Stability - Planning - Short circuit - Load flow - Interconnection - Power factor correction - Engage in proposal writing and customer interactions to develop new opportunities Required Education/Experience - BSEE degree - 5+ years in transmission planning system studies - Must be able to lead system impact studies - Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal - 3+ years with PSS/E - Project leadership and mentoring experience - Familiarity with ERCOT interconnection processes - Willingness to travel up to 10% Desired Education/Experience - MSEE or PhD - 5+ years with PSS/E - 7-10 years in transmission planning studies - PE registration or equivalent - Experience with additional software: - PSLF - TARA - PSCAD - Aspen Oneliner - ETAP - Power World - Coding and automation skills
