We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to join our remote team, a leading signage company. The Permit Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of obtaining permits for signage projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and maintaining effective communication with municipalities, clients, and internal teams. This role requires a proactive individual who can efficiently handle multiple projects and deadlines in a remote setting. Key Responsibilities: • Permit Research & Compliance: • Research and understand signage permit requirements, zoning laws, and municipal codes for various jurisdictions. • Ensure all signage projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations. • Permit Application Management: • Prepare, submit, and track permit applications, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. • Coordinate with municipalities to resolve any issues or obtain necessary clarifications. • Documentation & Reporting: • Maintain organized records of permit applications, approvals, and related correspondence. • Generate reports on the status of permits and update internal systems (e.g., monday.com, Slack) with progress. • Client & Team Collaboration: • Communicate permit requirements and updates to clients, project managers, and other stakeholders. • Work closely with designers to ensure plans meet permitting requirements before submission. • Process Improvement: • Identify opportunities to streamline the permitting process and implement best practices. • Stay up-to-date on changes in permitting regulations and update internal teams accordingly. • Support Internal Teams: • Assist in coordinating site surveys and inspections as required by permitting authorities. • Provide guidance to sales and project management teams on realistic timelines for permit approvals. Qualifications: • Experience: • Minimum 2 years of experience in permit coordination, project coordination, or a related field (experience in signage or construction preferred). • Skills: • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Strong verbal and written communication abilities. • Proficient in tools such as Gmail, Slack, monday.com, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Familiarity with reading and interpreting site plans and technical drawings (preferred). • Knowledge: • Understanding of permitting and zoning regulations (experience with Chicago or other large municipalities is a plus). • Personal Attributes: • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a remote environment.
