The Role Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure – good at providing analysis, documenting and diagraming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally “figuring it out.” This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients. A VMware engineer is a technical professional who specializes in skills related to virtual infrastructure, particularly virtualization, cloud computing, the VMware vSphere platform, and VMware’s products, services, and support. The VMware engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and managing virtualized computer resources within a server, storage, and networking environment. The VMware engineer also uses VMware’s software tools for designing, testing, and deploying VMware vSphere and VMware ESXi-based virtual infrastructure components. Key Responsibilities: Working alongside key vendors (Microsoft, VMware, McAfee, Avecto) to drive the development and deployment of their technologies within the environment Ability to automate tasks using VMwares PowerCli/PowerShell Design server hardware management Develop procedures and tools for build of the virtualization platform, design build of virtual machines, operations of virtual machines, operations and further development of the virtualization platform Install and maintain VMWARE infrastructure servers and their routine upgrades Responsible for capacity planning of virtual global and regional environment Deliver technical implementation of standard build Actively participate in project technical designs with service architects concentrating on virtual environment designs and document them Provide technical consultancy to DHL customers to support the implementationt Install and Administer VMware ESXi and Vcenter. Creates virtual machines and VM templates. Performing action on advanced features of ESX/ESXi 5/6/6.5, Migrations, HA, DRS, SDRS and Cluster. Analyzing the vCenter,ESXi and VM’s Logs to find root cause. Required Technical and Professional Experience 7+ years of hands-on VMware virtualization and/or cloud experience 5+ years of experience system administration in a multi-vendor environment 5+ years of experience with server Implementation, virtualization, and Microsoft Active Directory administration. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience Expert knowledge of vSphere and vCloud Director; experience with ESXi, vCenter and vMotion Expert knowledge of best practice VMware deployment techniques Hands on command line experience with ESXi and VCSA. Expert knowledge on configuration and troubleshooting-vSphere and Storage replication. Expert in setting up HA/DRS and troubleshooting. Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities Knowledge of managing VRA and VRO with Vcenter as an end point Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written Being You Diversity is a whole lot more than what we look like or where we come from, it’s how we think and who we are.
