Requirements Senior Development Associate, Corporate and Foundation Relations - Office of Advancement - Georgetown University Job Overview The Senior Development Associate for Corporate and Foundation Relations assists and supports the Office of Institutional Partnerships (OIP) team in the discovery and qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundation and corporate donors and prospects. In addition, the they are responsible for administrative tasks related to building and maintaining a successful OIP development program to achieve the goals of Georgetown University’s Called to Be fundraising campaign. The Senior Development Associate serves as a front-line representative of the Office of Institutional Partnerships office to colleagues in the Office of Advancement; university faculty, administrators, and staff in university leadership offices; and donors, prospects, alumni, and students. They provide general administrative and logistical support within the unit, with a range of responsibilities that include scheduling team and other meetings, taking meeting notes and tracking action items; doing prospect research using various online tools (e.g., Candid, Pivot, etc.); drafting, editing, and formatting proposal materials (e.g., edit text for proposals and online applications, compiling and updating attachments, reviewing and formatting budgets and budget narratives); preparing briefings, correspondence, narrative reports, donor acknowledgements, and presentations; compiling and submitting proposal packages; assisting with drafting and disseminating Requests for Proposals and other time-sensitive funding opportunities; updating data in the GU360 Advancement database; tracking gifts and generating reports from GU360; shepherding gift agreements and requests for payment through relevant review processes; and leading trainings on prospect research and proposal writing for university faculty and staff. Work Interactions Reporting to OIP’s Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships and Strategy Development, the Senior Development Associate for Corporate and Foundation Relations works collaboratively with the OIP Senior Director, the OIP Assistant Vice President, and other members of the OIP team on a variety of development projects spanning multiple campuses, schools, and units. They manage various communications (e.g., email, phone, Zoom and in-person meetings) with university constituents and Advancement colleagues, as well as with external foundation and corporate donors. Due to the level of confidential information that is handled, they must use careful judgment and discretion; as well, the diversity of workload requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines related to a multitude of tasks and projects, including duties not outlined above, as needed. Requirements and Qualifications • Bachelor's degree • 0-2 years of corporate and foundation relations support experience or an equivalent combination of training and work experience - preferably in fundraising, higher education, or other non-profit setting • Superior organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks in a systematic manner • Ability to work independently on a variety of projects and excellent project management skills • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines as a team player in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment • The vision, temperament, and drive to help develop and maintain optimal OIP organizational systems throughout all stages of the complex field of fundraising from private institutions • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, especially strong, concise and accurate writing and editing skills • Ability to use good judgment and ethical behavior in handling confidential material with sensitivity and discretion • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Professional, as well as capacity for acquiring strong proficiency in CRM databases • Availability and willingness to perform overtime/weekend work to meet grant proposal deadlines and to staff development events during the academic year Preferred Qualification Experience in nonprofit development work, particularly in higher education and with website content maintenance in WordPress Work Mode: Hybrid.
