The Opportunity: We’re looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to join our IT team. The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for implementation and support of TechOps/DevOps operations that are based on automated and orchestrated virtual environments builds along with continuous integration and delivery. You proactively encourage collaboration, build trust and inclusion, and work to establish effective relationships both inside and outside of the organization What your day looks like: • Administer enterprise-level Oracle Linux systems for development, test, and production environments using VMWare, Puppet and Ansible in a Highly-Available 24/7 production environment • Install new and/or rebuild and maintain existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards, policies, project and operational requirements, and licensing agreements • Contributes to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, incident response, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations • Coordinate and perform annual Linux security audits • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure or add new services as necessary • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as needed. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up. Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary • Provide Tier III and other support per request from various constituencies • Investigate and troubleshoot issues. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted users/groups • Maintain and update installation and configuration procedures and documentation. Research and recommend innovative approaches for improving system administration tasks Your experience and skills: • Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or other related field (or equivalent experience) with over 7 years of experience • Solid knowledge of and experience with Oracle or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.x required, along with Ansible, Puppet, Apache and Tomcat • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certifications desired • Strong and well-rounded background in network, host (RedHat/CentOS) and application security • Experience with F5 (BigIP) load balancing of web and application servers. • Experience with Oracle RDBMS, WebLogic, ODA appliance • Virtualization experience, VMWare 7.x, VSphere and VCloud strongly preferred • Developing and maintaining shell scripts to perform administrative tasks • Storage technologies & networks (SAN, NAS, RAID, iSCSI, fibre channel, infiniband) • Experience in Content/Config management (Foreman/Katello or similar) • Experience with Container technologies like Docker, etc. • Networking protocols, including HTTPS, TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, SSH, SMTP • Palo Alto Firewall configuration and management, IPS/IDS systems management, enterprise security management • Knowledge of monitoring, log management, IT automation and notification tools (Splunk, Manage Engine OpManager) • Knowledge of software revision control and source code management (Bitbucket, Git, Mercurial, CVS) • Knowledge of software development practices including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) and related tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Selenium, Apache Maven, etc.) • Understanding of OWASP web app security principals. • Knowledge and experience with PCI, SOX, SSAE16 and CSAE 3416 compliance processes • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset Why Aviso Wealth?
