The Role
The Senior Director of Business Management reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Go-To-Market (GTM) & Operations and is accountable for delivering highly effective & efficient Marketing Business Management & leading Lumen’s Rhythm of Business strategy and execution across product, sales & marketing. The candidate will oversee, orchestrate and produce the set of standard senior executive business review sessions across Lumen’s enterprise business (called the Rhythm of Business, or RoB). The role is also directly responsible for overseeing Lumen’s Marketing budget, marketing spend management processes, while improving upon existing Product, Segment and Marketing business rhythms to improve sales & marketing ROI.
The ideal candidate will lead with Lumen’s cultural attributes top of mind, be highly collaborative, have deep experience with enterprise business operations and have intimate knowledge of commercial metrics and strategic levers that drive continuous improvement within and amongst the product, marketing & sales functions.

The Main Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee the continuous improvement of Lumen’s executive RoB function, including standardizing the Lumen RoB and ensuring data-driven growth metrics are leveraged across each touchpoint
• Partner with Lumen’s CEO office, the SVP of Segment, SVP of Products, and SVP of Sales Enablement Operations to drive alignment across all aspects of Lumen’s executive RoB
• Develop and execute RoB strategies that surface business insights & growth blockers, leading to action-oriented execution improvements across product, sales & marketing.
• Partner across Marketing VP leaders to oversee the intra-Marketing RoB, ensuring improvement to marketing impact and ROI
• Oversee the end-to-end marketing budgeting & spend management process, from functional allocation to ongoing variance management, ensuring compliance to Lumen’s related procurement and Finance policies
• Lead the annual Marketing budget planning process and partner across Marketing leaders to oversee the Marketing budget allocation, in alignment with corporate priorities and business growth strategies
• Lead, mentor, model, coach and develop a high performing RoB and Marketing Business Management team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
What We Look For in a Candidate
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in business and operations management or related business rhythm management experience.
• Strong, proven expertise in building and leading with data analytics, reporting, and performance metrics.
• Proven experience in large scale budget and spend management
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on cross-functional partnerships.

Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

$158,290 - $211,050 in these states: AL AZ FL GA IA IN KS MO MT ND NM OH OK PA TN UT VT WI WV WY
$166,210 - $221,610 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$174,120 - $232,160 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
