Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Benefit Eligible Yes Screening Date 2024-07-23 Job Description Summary Responsible for the development, implementation and administration of Miami University’s benefits (health/welfare and retirement plans) and wellness program; compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Job Description Essential Duties: Develop and direct strategic planning in the design, implementation of benefit and wellness programs for the university (e.g. benefit plan design, request for proposal and vendor selection, health plan premium discount program, wellness initiatives, communication and education efforts). Direct supervision of benefit and wellness unit staff; hourly and salary positions Administer faculty/staff benefit/wellness programs such as retirement plans, health, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans, health plan premium discount program, tuition fee waiver policy Responsible for maintaining and executing an ongoing five-year strategic plan for the unit Monitors the effectiveness of existing benefit/wellness programs/policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost effective and consistent with industry trends/best practice and Miami University objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to Miami University faculty/staff. Remain current with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure compliance and provide guidance to senior administration Develops and provides advice to Miami University faculty/staff on decisions, policy and interpretation of benefit and wellness plans/programs; including the design of creative solutions to specific benefit/wellness-related programs. Manages the annual enrollment processes and third party vendor integrations Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data to senior administration Supervises the participation in and completion of benefit/wellness surveys to benchmark the university Conduct periodic assessment to determine future needs of university for benefits and total reward design Develop and document procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and work with HR staff to educate the University community. Other projects/duties as assigned to support HR initiatives Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Leadership/Change, Business Administration or related field and at least eight years of relevant experience. Or fifteen years of relevant experience with progressive leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in a related field. PHR, SPHR, CEBS or related Human Resources certification Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations.
