Reuters seeks an experienced digital editor for the social-media team to help lead coverage on our various platforms with a focus on YouTube. This person will be responsible for setting and leading the strategy on YouTube to grow the Reuters subscriber base. The ideal candidate will have great news judgment and proven skills as a digital storyteller. About the Role As Social Media Editor, you will: Work with video, graphics, images, and text gathered by our global news teams to produce native experiences to share our world-class journalism across platforms. Create and implement a comprehensive strategy to grow our YouTube presence, ensuring alignment with overall brand goals and content priorities. Work across teams to ensure content is tailored to YouTube audiences, including original videos and live streams. Work closely with text and video teams to ensure cohesive content that aligns with the Reuters Trust Principles. Use YouTube SEO best practices, including tagging, thumbnails, titles, and descriptions, to maximize discoverability and engagement. Monitor channel performance using YouTube Analytics and other tools. Create detailed reports and actionable insights to refine content strategy. Build and nurture subscriber base by posting in the community tab and foster new ways to engage our YouTube audience Stay ahead of emerging YouTube trends, features, and best practices to keep the channel competitive. About You You’re a good fit for the role of Social Media Editor if: You have excellent writing skills, and experience creating engaging and innovative multimedia content. A copy editor’s eye for detail, style and grammar You’re an avid consumer — and have a clear understanding of — digital and social media, including insight into upcoming trends on YouTube. You have proven experience managing and growing a YouTube channel for a brand or media organization. The role demands fluency in news, social media and a deep understanding of YouTube Analytics, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. You thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment and can multitask and balance priorities. You have good editorial judgment, team collaboration, and a passion for news are critical. While video editing is not required, proficiency in Adobe Premiere is a plus.
