Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking an Assistant Product Developer to join their team. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the design, development, and launch of innovative homeware products across various categories. You’ll be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, collaborating with internal teams, and managing project timelines to ensure high-quality products are delivered consistently in a fast-paced environment. You will work fully remotely, attending meetings in the Manchester area 2/3 times per month when required! Key Responsibilities include: Product Development Support Assist in designing and developing new products from concept to launch. Collaborate on ideation, prototyping, and production to enhance product features and align with brand standards. Market Research & Trend Analysis Conduct in-depth research to identify emerging trends, new product ideas, and competitor offerings within each category. Prepare and present reports on... findings to inform product development and strategic decision-making. Supply Chain Coordination Support the scheduling of new shipments, oversee logistics, and troubleshoot any shipping or delivery issues to maintain smooth workflow. Sample Coordination Manage the end-to-end process of sample coordination between suppliers and internal/external stakeholders. Track sample feedback and ensure updates are implemented as required. Supplier Communication Establish and maintain strong communication channels with suppliers to monitor production progress, ensure quality standards, and maintain project timelines. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with teams across departments, including Marketing, Sales, and Finance, to align on product details, pricing, and launch schedules. Participate in team meetings to provide updates and address any challenges in the development process. Critical Path Management Maintain and monitor the critical path to ensure all stages of product development meet deadlines and are ready for timely market launch. Artwork & Brief Review Coordinate with the artwork and design team to review and verify design briefs, ensuring alignment with product specifications. Desired Qualifications and Experience: Experience: Prior experience in product development, with a preference for background in homeware, kitchenware, or related consumer goods sectors. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the adaptability to learn new software tools as required. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a strong focus on detail and a commitment to follow-through on tasks. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for effective coordination with suppliers and collaboration across teams. Collaborative Mindset: Demonstrated ability to build relationships, thrive in team environments, and maintain a positive, constructive attitude under pressure. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to identify issues, analyse critically, and implement timely and effective solutions.
