Optical Design Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking an Optical Design Engineer to join their established, multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will focus on developing transmission and reflective optical system designs across diverse fields, including military vehicle sighting systems (IR and LWIR bands), II Tube vision systems, SWIR band optics, and ultra-high precision laser optics. The Optical Design Engineer will be involved in the full product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to system integration and production. Key Responsibilities • Optical design and simulation • Lens design and documentation of lens data • Development of assembly processes • Prototyping and new product introduction • Monte Carlo analysis • Hands-on testing and measurement • Input into factory and type approval testing setups and design Ideal Candidate Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Engineering, or a related science discipline with a 2:1 or higher • Knowledge of optical component and optical system design • Proficiency in Zemax optical design software • Results-oriented with strong attention to detail • Proven problem-solving skills and a flexible, proactive approach • Collaborative team player with a can-do attitude This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Optical Design Engineer to make a tangible impact from the start.
