We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Operations Manager / Team Lead to oversee and manage the repatriation of human remains, providing a vital service to bereaved families in collaboration with international authorities, airlines, consulates, and medical facilities. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and respectful return of human remains, while maintaining the highest standards of care, legal compliance, and operational efficiency.
In this role, you will lead a dedicated team, coordinate logistical operations, and provide critical support to grieving families during what is often a very challenging time. You will be the primary point of contact for various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, and will ensure that all processes are managed with professionalism, sensitivity, and strict adherence to legal and ethical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Team Leadership & Coordination:
Lead and manage a... team responsible for repatriation cases, ensuring that all aspects of the process are handled efficiently and with empathy.
• Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact for the Ministry of Health, ensuring compliance with their protocols and regulations.
Liaise with international authorities, airlines, consulates, medical facilities, and government agencies to ensure smooth coordination of all activities related to the repatriation of human remains.
• Logistics Management:
Oversee the transportation, documentation, and customs clearance of human remains across borders.
Coordinate all logistical arrangements, ensuring that the remains are transported in a timely, dignified, and legal manner.
• Family Support & Care:
Provide logistical and emotional support to the families of the deceased, managing travel arrangements, accommodation, and any other necessary logistics.
Ensure that the practical and emotional needs of the bereaved families are met with care, sensitivity, and respect during the repatriation process.
• Record Keeping & Reporting:
Maintain and update accurate records and reports related to each repatriation case, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with legal requirements.
• Compliance & Legal Oversight:
Ensure that all repatriation processes align with local and international legal, ethical, and health regulations, including the handling of human remains and organ donation protocols.
Monitor all operational procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience:
• Proven experience in logistics, operations management, or a similar role, ideally with exposure to repatriation or human remains transportation.
• Experience in managing teams and coordinating cross-functional operations.
• Previous experience working with international authorities, airlines, consulates, or health ministries would be an asset.
• Skills:
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work with sensitive situations and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage complex logistical tasks while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to offer empathetic support to grieving families.
Area: Ideal candidate must live in South Africa. This is a fully remote position for a company based in Dubai.
Salary: R 45 000 - R50 000 CTC per month, negotiable and depending on experience.
Working hours: 6am to 3pm SA time.
