About the job: The Red Hat Customer Content Services team is looking for an Associate Technical Writing Manager to join our team in Pune, India. As part of a global team, you will work with peers around the world to drive strategic initiatives to develop customer-centric content that supports Red Hat subscribers. Experience leading diverse and distributed teams in a high tech, fast-paced environment is ideal. A passion for the customer and associate experience is essential. You'll work closely with technical writers, program managers, content strategists, and other subject matter experts to help the team create and maintain product documentation for Red Hat’s customers that is technical, engaging, and easy to use. This is a people leader role and your focus will be on helping the team achieve their best. What will you do? Engage with Documentation Program Managers, Content Strategists, and management and other cross-functional stakeholders to build relationships, appropriately scope and source workloads, and proactively develop your team Build and develop a high-performing team of writers equipped with the skills and knowledge to contribute to team and departmental goals Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to increase your team's capabilities and effectiveness and to develop their competencies Develop understanding of customer needs and company goals in order to organize and coach the team to effectively Ensure proper staffing levels accounted for as development demands grow and new product lines are added Coordinate with peers worldwide to ensure broad collaboration and consistency in tasks and to drive strategic change initiatives What will you bring? Strong skills in coaching, mentoring, or leading people in a collaborative, global environment Experience and interest in improving customer or user experiences (internal or external) Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build and to collaborate with diverse teams Experience with and passion for driving change and continual improvement preferred Degree or equivalent expertise in IT, technical communications, or related field preferred Practical experience working as a technical writer in an enterprise software organization strongly preferred Experience with or knowledge of Git is a plus About Red Hat Red Hat is the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
