GEICO’s Identity Governance team is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to think strategically and be innovative in their support to securely manage user access, achieve efficiency, and high-performance. The candidate will participate in developing solutions to complex problems and facilitate the implementation of process improvements, therefore must be comfortable working with stakeholders across multiple teams. The candidate will support in proactively ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, stability, protection, and user experience. Position Description The Identity Governance Engineer is a key member of the staff, working across Business Services Engineering, Identity Management Platform, and best practices to ensure that we provide a superior experience for our customers. Our teams thrive and succeed in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years combined experience in the areas of application development, systems security, networking, and information security – preferably with some knowledge about an Identity Management platform. Must have an automation mindset to support efforts that improve Customer Experience. Position Responsibilities As an Engineer II, you will: Engage in scoping, design, development, and optimization of GEICO’s Identity and Access Management platforms. Write code using a modern programming language such as Python, Java, C#, etc., to build solutions in support of the Identity and Access Management program. Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire Identity Lifecycle. Ensure efficient processes with reduced complexity and technical debt and share best practices. Collaborate with developers, analysts, and other engineers to process user requests and troubleshoot system issues. Engage in problem-solving initiatives. Work with vendors and service providers to achieve optimum availability, efficiency, and user experiences. Create documentation and playbooks for operational processes. Prioritize, plan, and build roadmaps for Identity Governance projects and assignments. Support the creation of a team environment that fosters diversity, inclusion, mental safety, and innovation. The candidate will be working with other engineers and developers in the Identity and Access Management organization to protect GEICO’s information assets both internally and externally. Candidate must have the ability to plan, prioritize, manage risks, execute, and provide status to management. The role demands some project management skills, great interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be willing and able to do effective presentations. Qualifications Ability to write code with programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, .NET, JavaScript, JSON, and SQL. Understanding of IAM concepts such as Role Management, SOD, Privileged Access Management, SSO, RBAC, ABAC, and Least Privilege Access. Experience with Entra, on-premises active directory, and privilege access. Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems. Experience with security protocols and products such as Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth. Experience in providing user support and maintaining an Identity Management system Excellent understanding of Identity Lifecycle management. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience 3+ years hands-on experience or working knowledge of Information Systems and Active directory. Software development experience using Python, C#, or JSON, and a scripting language. 3+ years’ experience using Visio A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience. At least 3 years’ experience with security standards, process improvements, and user support. Critical and analytical thinking skills. Ability to perform root cause analysis. Required Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience Annual Salary $80,000.00 - $185,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
