Front End Engineer @ Early Age consumer tech startup (remote)

Role Overview We are seeking a talented and experienced Front End Developer to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling our platform. This is a key role, requiring someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership, and collaborate with a small but mighty team of creators, engineers, and marketers. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance front-end applications using Next.js. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and backend engineers, to translate • UI/UX designs into interactive web experiences. • Ensure responsive design and seamless user experiences across devices and platforms. • Optimize web pages for maximum speed, scalability, and accessibility. • Integrate APIs and manage state using modern libraries like Redux or React Context. • Contribute to design discussions and help shape the user experience of Toastd’s platform. • Identify and fix bugs, and improve performance and overall functionality. Required Skills & Experience: •  Proficiency in Next.js and React.js frameworks. • Strong understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3. • Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Context API, etc.). • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration. • Familiarity with CSS frameworks like TailwindCSS or Styled Components. • Basic understanding of backend technologies to collaborate effectively with backend teams. • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Skills • Experience in UI/UX design or a strong sense of design aesthetics. • Proficiency with design tools like Figma or Adobe XD. • Understanding of web accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG). • Previous experience with e-commerce or community-driven platforms. • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines.
