Role Description The Heliport Manager/Heliport Landing Officer (HLO) oversees all operations related to the heliport or helipad, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and maintaining safety standards. The Manager/HLO also is responsible for overseeing the safe landing and takeoff of helicopters at helidecks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM). Key Responsibilities • Ensure compliance with CAAM regulations regarding heliport operations. • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance safety and efficiency. • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including air traffic control, emergency services, and ground handling teams. • Manage maintenance schedules for heliport infrastructure to ensure operational readiness. • Oversee training programs for personnel involved in heliport operations. • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments regularly to identify potential hazards. • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities regarding heliport operations. • Supervise all helicopter operations on the heliport, ensuring safety protocols are followed. • Communicate effectively with helicopter pilots during landing and takeoff operations. • Control the movement of personnel in the vicinity of the heliport. • Manage loading and unloading of passengers/cargo, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. • Oversee refueling operations, including quality control of aviation fuel. • Maintain comprehensive manifest/documentation for passengers and cargo. • Conduct daily checks on helideck equipment and emergency response readiness. • Lead initial responses to emergencies involving helicopters. Qualifications • Completed necessary training courses approved/required by CAAM for HLO (eg: HOITs, HERTL, HDA/HLO) • Safety Management Systems Certification Training • Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety procedures • Experience in heliport or airport management • Strong organizational and communication skills • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively • Proficiency in MS Office and aviation software • Certification in Aviation Management or related field • Experience in flight operations coordination • Excellent problem-solving abilities Base Operations Base Operations for these positions are in Penang (Primary) and Subang (Secondary)
