Description: I am a teacher assistant based in NYC, working on a tight deadline to finalize my memoir. I am seeking a skilled professional who can begin immediately to copyedit and proofread my 260-page document hosted on Google Docs. The project needs to be completed by December 20th, 2024. Budget Constraints: As a teacher assistant, my budget is limited, but I am committed to making this collaboration work and am open to discussing rates that are fair for both parties. Required Skills: Strong Copyediting Abilities: Ability to enhance clarity, grammar, punctuation, and style while maintaining my voice. Proficient Proofreading: Keen eye for catching typographical errors and formatting inconsistencies. Narrative Skills: Expertise in helping to "show, not tell," improving narrative engagement without excessive detailing. Efficiency in Identifying Redundancy: Skill in locating and eliminating redundant passages to streamline the text. Analytical Skills: Ability to identify areas that can be condensed and provide feedback on sections where the reader might feel overwhelmed due to wordiness or over-explanation.
