POSITION DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Installs and maintains computer hardware and software including servers and networks. Troubleshoots problems and provides technical assistance and training to end users in the use of desktop hardware and software. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Position Specific Summary The Information Technology (IT) Specialist position at the City of Tucson’s Information Technology Department (ITD) is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, providing technical support, and customer service to city-wide end users within the Technical Services team. Work is performed under the supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor. This position does not supervise. Duties and Responsibilities Installs, repairs, maintains, and tests computer hardware and related peripherals including printers, scanners, all-in-ones, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phones. Configures and maintains conference and meeting rooms along with labs and classroom equipment. Installs city-wide software, both stand alone and enterprise for City partners. Answers and responds to technical services calls. Completes remote service tickets including password changes and account changes. Triages and resolves partner issues. Creates and documents tickets while ensuring for accuracy. Provides field services. Assists in the completion of partner projects Including upgrades and deployments. Supports in asset management and telecommunications as needed. Provides expertise and best practices to end-users. Supports zone-wide training and documentation efforts. Prepares reports and provides assistance to the Technical Advisory Committee. Collaborates with teams on policy, processes, and procedures as needed. Performs tasks in support of the Technical Services Team and ITD as needed, including updates, inventory control, hard drive (HD) shredding, and surplus. Keeps supervisor aware of updates to partner procedures. Creates/ builds packages, image, and works independently. Handles multiple complex and varied assignments in a timely manner. Utilizes Endpoint management software. Position may perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position to include participation in committee assignments and recruitments. Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned. * All duties, responsibilities listed are subject to change. QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: 6 months post high school Work Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience License: Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. ADDITIONAL MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: 6 months post high school Work Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience License/Certifications: Languages: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree.
