Volunteer regional tech coordinator

Job Overview We are looking for a tech coordinator for each of our regional publications, plus one for Scotland and one for Wales. This is an opportunity to help support your local community and the distribution of reliable, fact-checked online news content. In this role, you would work closely with the editor-in-chief of the publication and our central technical support team to ensure the smooth running of the publication. Responsibilities • Troubleshooting. • Identifying ways to improve the efficiency and speed of the site. • Installing updates and new plugins as required. • Helping editors and uploaders to adapt to changing systems. • Advising on tech stories. Skills • Familiarity with Wordpress. • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. • Basic understanding of MySQL or SQL. • Good communication skills. • Good teamworking skills.
