ABOUT THE ROLE Our Building Quality Assurance services cover all phases of the project. We work closely with our clients throughout the entire life cycle of the project and are the leading experts in new construction quality assurance. Our professional engineers have worked on buildings of all sizes across Canada and provide construction management consulting to our clients. We are considered the preeminent providers of Tarion Registrar Bulletin 19 Field Review Consultant services for new construction condominiums. We fully understand the myriad of regulations in the Tarion Registrar Bulletin 19 program and are one of the largest providers of B19 services in Ontario. Our GTA office is based in Vaughan, ON. This is a hybrid role, working from home and in the field supporting projects across the Greater Toronto Area. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As a member of our Building Quality Assurance team, your duties will include, but are not limited to: Performs drawing reviews (architectural, specifications, shop drawings and material submittals, etc.); Perform periodic field and mock-up reviews and employ a reporting system to identify and revise action items as needed; Prepare and review reports and communicate the results of reviews to the client, including meetings with clients as needed; Conducts on-site testing to validate the performance of building enclosures, including assessments for water and air leakage and guard rail systems; Assist builders and developers in addressing new construction methods, deficiencies or responding to claims of deficiencies; The ideal candidate must be flexible and open to a mix of field and office tasks, coordinating travel to assigned sites as necessary; Respond to client requests for proposals and other project related inquiries; Identify targets and meet new potential clients in support of our business development; Performing other duties as assigned within the Buildings Group; and Other duties as may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Science; Knowledge of Building Science Principles and Building Envelope Technologies considered an asset; 3 to 5 years of experience in residential/commercial/industrial construction and/or building assessments; Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Building Science Specialist (BSS) designation or working towards obtaining would be considered an asset; Health & Safety training requirements in construction projects would be considered an asset; Excellent verbal & written Communication and interpersonal skills; Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a growing organization; Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint; Must have a valid G driver’s license, access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance to travel.
