The Challenge We are looking for an FS Developer to enhance and optimize our Shopify stores. We need a developer experienced in both front-end and back-end technologies to ensure a seamless and fast user experience. Day in the Life of a Full Stack Developer at GT Ecom • Build new Shopify apps, front-end features, and optimize the back-end • Automate systems • Fix any urgent bugs or performance issues that have surfaced • Discuss ongoing projects and share updates with the team • Ensure no critical issues arise • Switch gears to work on new product integrations or testing out new eCommerce features like payment gateways or advanced search functionalities • Push new updates or fixes live and ensure all deployments are stable Important Numbers for this Role • Fix Critical Bugs within 24 Hours: Urgent issues, especially those impacting user experience or revenue, should be resolved within a 24-hour window. • Code Deployment Frequency: Aim for multiple deployments per week, maintaining a fast, reliable development cycle without compromising quality (often 2-3 times per week). • Page Load Speed Under 3 Seconds: Ensure that the website’s average page load time remains below 3 seconds, as this directly impacts conversion rates and SEO. • Uptime of 99.9% or Higher: Maintain the website’s uptime, ensuring that any downtime due to server or code issues is minimized. • Error Rate Reduction: Continuously monitor and reduce the frequency of errors in the system (both front-end and back-end), with a target to decrease errors by a specific percentage (e.g., 10-15%) quarterly. Your Team When You Join Us You will be a pioneer hire for the role and you will be reporting directly to our Chief Operations Officer who is mainly responsible for our IT projects. We would love to hear from you if… • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, Shopify experience is required • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React, Angular, or Vue), and responsive design principles. • Experience with server-side programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or PHP, along with database management (SQL, NoSQL). • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (Git). • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases like MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL. • Ability to identify, diagnose, and fix bugs or performance bottlenecks efficiently. • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
