Role Description:
Are you thinking about moving from your current position as a Court Reporter to a Digital Reporter? In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing civil litigation proceedings and recording all content, including witness testimonies, using digital tools.
The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
• Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
• Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties.
• Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
• Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
• Performing thorough research and validating data across multiple sources.
• Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools.
Qualifications:
• State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it.
• Must possess or be able to obtain certification or state licensure (where required).
• Willing to learn or already knowledgeable about U.S. civil proceedings.
• Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment.
• Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings.
• Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
• Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills.
• Professional conduct, dependability, punctuality, and appearance.
• Openness to working as an independent contractor.
• Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required.
• Willing to work both remotely and in person.
