Contract Conveyancer for Private Mortgages in BC

Compensation
We are seeking a contract conveyancer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate conveyancing in British Columbia. This is a remote, contract-based position where you will be working closely with our internal sales team to facilitate real estate transactions. This is an ongoing, part-time commitment.
Responsibilities:
• Receive initial instructions or letters of interest and create a lender-specific commitment.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of property titles to ensure clear ownership transfer.
• Prepare instructions and ancillary documents (including lender disclosures and optional management agreement) upon receipt of the signed commitment and deposit from the borrower.
• Maintain accurate records and files for all transactions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders, including lenders, internal sales team, and lawyers to facilitate timely transactions.
• Liaise with the lender's lawyer/conveyancer to ensure the progress of the file and raise any concerns.
• Review returned documents from the lender's lawyer for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure that the Document folder for the file is document complete and follow up on missing documents.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a conveyancer or paralegal in British Columbia.
• Ability to provide references from other lawyers you have worked with.
• Must be available during business hours.
• Experience with Adobe Pro is required.
• Experience working with private mortgages.
• Experience processing payments and trust account reconciliation is required.

• Proficient in analyzing complex information related to mortgage transactions.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple files efficiently while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Additional Details:
• We prefer candidates who can communicate efficiently through email and provide weekly updates on tasks and projects.
• You can be located anywhere in British Columbia as this is a remote job.
• Rates: This can be billed on an hourly rate or on a flat fee per file.
