Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Insurance Credentialing & Contracting Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the insurance credentialing and contracting processes for healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with insurance company requirements, and facilitating the smooth onboarding of new providers to insurance networks. The ideal candidate will have experience in the mental healthcare industry, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the credentialing and contracting process. Key Responsibilities: • Manage the credentialing process for healthcare providers, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to insurance companies. • Review, negotiate, and facilitate contracts with insurance companies and third-party payers. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations. • Maintain and update provider credentialing files and contracts. • Act as liaison between healthcare providers and insurance carriers to resolve issues and track statuses. • Provide guidance on credentialing requirements and assist with onboarding new providers. • Prepare and analyze reports on credentialing and contracting activities. • Stay current on industry changes, payer policies, and regulations affecting credentialing and contracting. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance credentialing and contracting, preferably within a mental healthcare setting. • In-depth knowledge of healthcare insurance carriers, payer requirements, and credentialing and contracting procedures. • Experience negotiating contracts with insurance companies and third-party payers. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. • Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA and payer-specific requirements. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and credentialing software (e.g., CAQH, TrakCare, etc.). • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or other relevant credentialing certifications.
