Sell-Side Transaction Readiness Consultant
Position Overview
East 57th Street Partners is seeking an experienced Sell-Side Transaction Readiness Consultant to support a private equity-backed client on a fully remote basis for a 3- to 6-month contract. This role involves preparing the organization for a sell-side transaction by ensuring financial records, processes, and systems are clean, accurate, and transaction-ready. The ideal candidate must bring a proactive, hands-on approach and be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough financial and operational assessments to identify areas requiring clean-up and alignment for transaction readiness.
• Lead financial statement preparation and ensure all records are accurate, complete, and GAAP-compliant.
• Prepare due diligence materials, including quality of earnings (QoE) reports, financial data rooms, and supporting schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and ensure operational readiness for the transaction.
• Work with external advisors, including investment bankers, auditors, and legal teams, to support the sell-side process.
• Identify and address key financial reporting and operational risks that could impact the transaction.
• Enhance or implement internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy of reporting.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external due diligence teams.
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to stakeholders to optimize transaction value.
Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in financial consulting, transaction advisory, or as a Controller/Director of Finance in a private equity-backed environment.
• Strong expertise in sell-side due diligence, financial reporting, and transaction readiness.
• Proven ability to lead and execute financial clean-up and process improvement initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle) and Excel.
• Experience in preparing Quality of Earnings (QoE) reports and managing due diligence processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• CPA designation or CFA certification is preferred but not required.
• Prior experience working with private equity firms or in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is a plus.
• Comfortable leveraging technology for remote collaboration and project execution.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $70 - $100, depending on experience and qualifications.
This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while driving critical outcomes for a successful sell-side transaction process.
