AML/BSA Data & Analytics (Remote)

Job Summary Provides data analytics and performance reporting that drive business decisions and priorities for the BSA/AML and OFAC department. Production teams' internal partner for forecasting, scorecards, dashboards and reports that offer visibility into our compliance work and the corresponding data trends. Develops and delivers analyses that answer critical business questions, validate... assumptions and debunk myths. Works with production customer, account and transaction data to support and execute strategies to ensure compliance, improve team and customer experience, and reduce costs. Partners effectively with internal technology resources and third-party data and/or vendor providers. Job Duties and Responsibilities • Performs data mining and customer analysis. Researches, compiles, and performs complex analysis on critical customer, household, account, transactional, geographical and or behavioral data • Maintains necessary processes, controls and procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Leverages multiple internal or external information sources and ensures adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies. • Liaison with Synovus Data Governance team to identify location, structure, and function of data related to department needs and projects. • Partners with department teams to define issues and information needs and translates them into specific data/technical requirements to support business initiatives and projects. • Responsible for designing and developing data visualization solutions according to business requirements to effectively communicate insights and provide performance measurement solutions to business decision makers. • Supports enterprise and department initiatives related to data and technology. • Manages multiple assignments simultaneously and completes assignments within established time frames. • Remains current on best practices of business analytics trends, techniques and tools. May identify emerging trends in technology and analysis as opportunities for future business growth and development. • Presents complex material to all levels of management in a digestible, consumable manner. Responsible for committee materials due on routine basis along with production metric tracking. • Builds effective business partnerships with all levels of team members. • Serves as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and other support teams. • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. • Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Experience: • Four (4) or more years of data reporting, analytics, or technical experience in reporting, analytics, and database technology for financial services AND/OR four (4) or more years of relevant BSA Compliance experience required. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: • Knowledge of the industry's standard business practices, products, and services both BSA and technology • Comfortable working with fluid priorities and tight deadlines • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills with high attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to interact and influence successfully at all levels of the organization • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills • Highly proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint • Demonstrated data management skills utilizing a large and complex database environment OR using statistical software to collect data and assimilate statistics Exceptional technical skills using tools such as SQL Assistant, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, SPSS, Informatica, DataBricks Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: • Job related experience in the financial services industry • Working knowledge of regression testing, and more complex data modeling principles #LI-DG1 #LI-Remote
