Data Scientist (Amplitude, Retail & E-commerce Specialist) We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist with expertise in Amplitude Analytics, retail, and e-commerce to drive data-driven decisions across our products and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail analytics and e-commerce platforms, combined with the technical expertise to set up and optimize Amplitude Analytics for advanced product and customer insights. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and operations, to derive actionable insights that improve customer experiences and drive revenue growth. Key Responsibilities: Amplitude-Specific Responsibilities: Amplitude Setup & Optimization: • Configure and maintain Amplitude Analytics to enable advanced product and customer journey analysis. • Develop and implement robust tracking plans tailored to retail and e-commerce operations. • Ensure seamless integration with platforms like Segment, e-commerce tools, and other analytics platforms. Data Accuracy & Troubleshooting: • Validate and monitor data accuracy for retail and e-commerce transactions. • Resolve tracking or data inconsistencies in collaboration with engineering teams. Custom Dashboards & Reports: • Build Amplitude dashboards for tracking key metrics like sales trends, product performance, user cohorts, cart abandonment, and retention. • Leverage Amplitude features such as Funnels, Behavioral Cohorts, and Path Analysis for deep-dive insights. • Retail & E-commerce Analytics Responsibilities: Customer Behavior Analysis: • Analyze customer purchase patterns, lifetime value (LTV), churn rates, and repeat purchase trends. • Provide insights on regional sales performance and inventory optimization. Product Performance Insights: • Identify high-performing products and provide recommendations for promotions, bundling, and pricing strategies. • Analyze the effectiveness of product recommendations and cross-sell strategies. Omnichannel Analytics: • Monitor performance across multiple channels (in-store, online, mobile) to deliver seamless customer experiences. • Provide data-driven insights for personalized marketing campaigns and loyalty programs. A/B Testing & Experimentation: • Design and execute experiments (e.g., pricing, promotions, UX enhancements) to measure impact and optimize outcomes. General Data Science Responsibilities: Predictive Analytics & Forecasting: • Develop models to forecast sales, inventory needs, and customer lifetime value. • Build predictive models for customer segmentation and targeting strategies. Data Integration & Management: • Aggregate data from multiple sources (Amplitude, CRM, POS systems, e-commerce platforms, etc.) for unified analysis. • Ensure scalable ETL processes to support reporting and analytics needs. Collaboration & Enablement: • Partner with product, marketing, and operations teams to define KPIs and deliver actionable insights. • Provide training and support to stakeholders on using Amplitude and interpreting analytics. Qualifications & Requirements: Technical Skills: • Strong expertise in Amplitude Analytics, including implementation and advanced feature utilization. • Proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets. • Experience with retail and e-commerce platforms, such as Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, or custom-built systems. • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Adobe Analytics, or similar. • Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling. • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). • Experience with cloud data solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake). Retail & E-commerce Experience: • 3+ years of experience working in retail analytics or e-commerce analytics. • Strong understanding of metrics like conversion rates, average order value (AOV), cart abandonment, and sales funnel analysis. • Experience with inventory and supply chain analytics in a retail or e-commerce environment. • Knowledge of omnichannel strategies and customer lifecycle analytics. General Experience & Education: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in data analytics or data science roles. Soft Skills: • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities to convey insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • A proactive and collaborative mindset to work in cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with personalization engines or recommendation systems. • Familiarity with retail CRM platforms and loyalty programs. • Exposure to international e-commerce markets and multi-currency setups. • Certification in Amplitude or related analytics tools.
