JOB DESCRIPTION
Top Prospect Careers is a growing career services company, operating as a fully remote business to assist individuals of varied professional backgrounds as they elevate or transition into more prominent professional careers.
We're seeking a talented writer who can think like a hiring manager or a recruiter. We need someone with amazing attention to detail and an interest in creating compelling materials that help our clients stand out in their job search.
This role will be a mix of writing, light data-entry, online research, and admin work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Write cold emails for client outreach, ensuring each message is professional, personalized, and designed to generate interest.
• Answer job application-related questions, providing clear, thoughtful guidance for TPC clients to help them navigate the job search process.
• Research job descriptions and company details to optimize application materials and tailor communication strategies.
• Customize resumes and cover letters to align with specific job descriptions and highlight client strengths in a compelling, polished manner.
• Track and manage job applications to ensure deadlines are met and materials are delivered with accuracy.
Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):
• Minimum 2 years of professional writing, editing, or communications experience. Writing samples will be required. Experience writing resumes, copywriting, or cold outreach preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and compelling content independently; without reliance on AI tools such as ChatGPT. (Ironic that it helped me write this? Maybe.)
• Must have a track record of analyzing complex information and crafting customized, targeted written materials (tailored emails, client-focused communications, etc.).
• Ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, or missing information in resumes, cover letters, and job postings.
• Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and manage a high volume of tasks without sacrificing quality.
• Comfortable using tools like Microsoft Word, LinkedIn, Google Workspace, and LinkedIn, Zoom.
• Must be available to work between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) to meet client and business needs.
• Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze job descriptions, understand client needs, and craft customized, targeted application materials that align with each opportunity. You should be able to identify nuances in job requirements and creatively match client skills and experiences to fit.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred, though candidates with strong demonstrated skills and relevant experience will be considered.
Preferred but Not Required:
• Experience in job application processes, recruiting, or HR.
• Familiarity with various industries and roles to better understand job descriptions and tailor application materials.
• Knowledge of LinkedIn optimization and networking strategies.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
