Position Summary: Willis College is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Analyst and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Instructor to join our faculty on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI, with at least 2 years of recent experience in the field within the last 10 years. This role involves teaching AI concepts and guiding students to understand and apply AI techniques and tools effectively. Your expertise and dedication will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of AI professionals. Key Responsibilities: Duties & Responsibilities Related to Student Instruction: • Teach students how to build AI models that can learn from data to make decisions, use various algorithms to automate and optimize business processes, teach machines to understand and generate human language, and use AI to analyze and manipulate images. • Employ a variety of student-centered, active learning techniques designed to engage students. • Demonstrate a mastery of Data Analyst and Artificial Intelligence subject matter, incorporating practical experience in teaching lessons, issuing relevant assignments, and class activities. • Incorporate up-to-date subject-matter expertise that reflects current trends in this field of study. • Display expertise by clarifying abstract and complex ideas using relevant examples and analogies. • Utilize qualitative inquiry methods and experiential instructional techniques to engage with students and enrich their skill sets. • Employ instructional technology and active learning approaches to enhance the learning experience. • Evaluate students’ academic performance using a variety of College-approved assessments and techniques. Curriculum Responsibilities: • Provide suggestions for LMS links and other useful multimedia, e.g., updates to labs, software, and courseware. • Assist with the development of the College’s curricula, e.g., contributing course materials for use in the approved curriculum. • Complete faculty surveys, participate in curriculum meetings, and make recommendations for constructive changes. • Participate in program and institutional effectiveness assessments. • Present the College’s academic programs in a positive light to applicants and the wider community. Administrative Duties: • Keep regular office hours for meeting with students and refer them to the appropriate persons and resources when needed. • Perform administrative duties in a timely manner, e.g., taking attendance, entering midterm and final grades, and attending scheduled campus and College-wide faculty meetings. • Contact students who have missed classes promptly and document this in the learning management system. • Maintain classrooms and computer/skills labs. Professional Service Responsibilities to the College: • Exhibit knowledge of, and support for, our College Catalog and program-specific academic policies, and comply with all academic and regulatory policies. • Model professionalism and engage in continued professional development qualifications’ programs through ongoing education. • Attend faculty meetings. • Represent the College in a positive manner to internal and external constituents. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in the AI field within the last 10 years. • Strong knowledge and practical experience in AI methodologies, tools, and applications. • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI, such as Python, R, Java, SQL, TensorFlow, and other AI frameworks for building and optimizing machine learning models. • Previous teaching or instructional experience in a post-secondary or professional training environment is highly desirable. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
