A Day in the Life In this exciting role as Director, Global Learning Platforms and Effectiveness, you will significantly contribute to the overall goals of the organization in several ways: Firstly, by developing and executing a global learning technology strategy, the director ensures that the organization's learning initiatives are aligned with its broader goals. This strategic alignment helps in driving the organization's mission forward and achieving its long-term objectives. Secondly, effective team management ensures that the learning technologists, LMS admins, and other professionals are well-equipped and motivated to deliver high-quality learning solutions. This, in turn, enhances the overall productivity and performance of the organization. The integration and maintenance of learning management systems and other digital tools streamline the learning process, making it more efficient and accessible. This technological integration supports the organization's goal of continuous improvement and innovation in learning and development. By leveraging technology to create engaging and effective learning experiences, the director helps in building a skilled and knowledgeable workforce. This directly impacts the organization's ability to stay competitive and adapt to changing market demands. Collaboration with stakeholders such as HR, IT, and business leaders ensures that learning technologies meet the specific needs of the organization. In summary, the role of a Director, Global Learning Technology and Effectiveness is crucial in driving the effective use of learning technologies, which in turn supports the organization's strategic goals, enhances workforce capabilities, and fosters continuous improvement and innovation. Responsibilities may include the following: Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a global learning technology strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals. This includes identifying and integrating new technologies to improve learning outcomes. Team Management: Lead a team of learning technologist, learning management system admins, and other professionals. Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure the team can effectively deliver on learning initiatives. Technology Integration: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning tools. Ensure these technologies are effectively integrated into the organization’s learning environment. Leverage technology to enhance learning experiences. This includes working with the content team to creating online courses, virtual training sessions, and other digital learning resources. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders, including HR, IT, and business leaders, to ensure learning technologies meet the needs of the organization. This involves regular communication and collaboration to align learning initiatives with business objectives. Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning technologies and programs. Use data and feedback to continuously improve learning solutions and ensure they deliver measurable results. Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in learning technology. Experiment with new tools and approaches to keep the organization’s learning solutions innovative and effective. Budget Management: Manage the budget for learning technology initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support strategic goals. Ability to travel as required by the role. 35% Domestic and International Candidates in EMEA, APAC, Americas, Australia, New Zealand, UK will be considered for this role. Remote role supporting Global Operations, candidates must be able to work across time zones. Must Have: Minimum Requirements A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of corporate training experience with 7+ years of managerial experience Or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience. Nice to Have Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of industry-specific practices and standards, as well as current trends in learning and development. Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate a team, manage projects, and drive strategic initiatives. Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technologies. Familiarity with e-learning tools and platforms is crucial. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Data Analysis: Skills in analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Change Management: Ability to lead and manage change within the organization, particularly in the adoption of new learning technologies and methodologies. Experience with AI learning platforms and technologies. Experience working with Sales Enablement and Data Analytics teams to assess the business effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven improvements. Experience in global or regional roles, understanding cultural nuances in training and development across diverse geographies. Commercial Training deployment experience Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or similar credentials can be advantageous. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$171,200.00 - $256,800.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan. The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
