Senior Consultant | Climate change - Forestry and land use, Green economy projects

For over 24 years, our consultants have been supporting and guiding our clients to achieve low-carbon climate-resilient development. We assess contexts and baselines, design strategies and frameworks, develop policies, programmes and projects and unlock finance for public and private sector clients across the world.
You will support and lead E Co’s teams as they formulate market creation and transformation projects and programmes in the sustainable energy and climate change markets in emerging economies on behalf of our clients. This position is remote and the location is flexible.
Duties
• Lead manage and hold accountable of assigned consulting team members
• Understanding strategic development of the consulting function
• Assignment oversight and delivery; on time, on budget and with quality
• Financial management of assignments
• Client relationship management
• Assignment Management standard operating procedures adoption and
development
• Professional development management of team members and line managers
• Knowledge management & learning (KML) adoption and development
• Collaboration with other company functions
Essential requirements
• Postgraduate degree – MBA, MA, MSc, PhD
• An outstanding academic and career record
• Excellent interpersonal skills, empathetic and open
• Proven and recent experience working on project formulation with international development organisations, agencies, and banks (particularly GCF, GEF, AF)
• Successful track record in sustainability/low-carbon/climate change projects or programmes – eg. market assessment, project design, policy development, and impact evaluation
• Focus on forestry and land use, green economy projects
• Willingness to travel on assignments to Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Eastern Europe
• Strong oral and written English communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
• Highly conversant with Internet and office applications
• Able to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from them
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Solid track record/knowledge and experience in one or more of the following:
• Climate policy (at international, national, or local levels)
• Industry, energy, and infrastructure decarbonisation
• Gender inclusion, social protection, and climate vulnerability
• Climate impact assessment including GHG calculations
• Sustainable cities, urban transport, and green/energy-efficient buildings
• Climate finance mechanisms and processes (eg GCF, GEF, AF)
• Private finance for climate mitigation/adaptation (eg. project finance, fund management, ESG reporting, impact investing)
Highly desirable
• Relevant experience in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and/or Asia-Pacific
• Fluency in another language (including French, Russian, Arabic, Turkish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Spanish)
• A wide network of contacts in the sustainable and international development sector
