Job Overview Ohmium is seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales and Business Development to enhance our regional presence, drive sales growth, and achieve revenue targets in the area. This senior executive role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in sales leadership and team management and a deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, particularly green hydrogen technology. In this role, you will lead a team of <#> Account Directors, focusing on account development, value-based selling, and closing deals. Collaborating closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, you will help develop the commercial sales strategy for the region and be responsible for its successful execution. This position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer. Key Responsibilities: • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market growth. Collaborate with the Chief Commercial Officer to align regional strategies with overall company goals. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions. • Pipeline & Deal Management: Monitor and manage the deal pipeline to ensure healthy flow of business development opportunities within the region. Develop and implement effective deal strategies to maximize win rates. Collaborate with salespeople to create comprehensive sales plans for key accounts and opportunities. Provide expertise in pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability. Lead contract negotiations and collaborate with other internal key stakeholders to ensure delivery terms. Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of sales activities and revenue projections. • Contract Management and Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with clients and vendors to ensure competitiveness and profitability. Draft, review, and amend/redline contracts to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with legal standards. Work collaboratively with the legal team to conduct thorough legal reviews, ensuring all contractual obligations align with company policies and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic advice on contract management and dispute resolution. • Team Leadership: Attract, recruit, develop and retain a diverse and high performing team. Set clear sales targets for the regional sales team and provide guidance and support to ensure achievement. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement training and development plans that drive individual and team performance. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture between the sales team and . • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders and decision-makers, fostering trust and market opportunity. Understand customer needs, challenges, and pain points and develop customized and value based solutions. Serve as the primary point of contact for high value clients and strategic accounts. Conduct customer presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions to highlight Ohmium’s products, services and solutions. • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments related to green energy solutions. Analyze market data and customer insights to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks. Provide feedback to product management and marketing teams to help shape product roadmap and go-to-market strategies. Drive innovation in sales approaches, tools, and processes. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability within the sales team. • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment across sales, operations, marketing, and product teams. Work closely with other regional sales leaders to identify business opportunities and customer connections. Ensure clear and consistent communication of goals, strategies, and performance updates. Participate in regular meetings with the senior leadership team to provide insights and recommendations. • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track sales performance. Prepare and present detailed reports on sales activities, results, and forecasts to senior management. Use data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and improve outcomes. • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the sales process and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements. Implement best practices to minimize risks and enhance the overall sales process. Essential Skills: • Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team of sales professionals. Strong team player with a focus on achieving collective goals. • Agility: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Resilient and adaptable to change. Education and Experience: • 15+ years of experience in a commercial leadership role; experience working for capital equipment, the broader manufacturing businesses, and energy markets a big plus. • 3-7 years’ experience leading sales and business development team. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. • Experience in the renewable energy sector or related industry. • Established track-record in completing significant transactions in prior roles (as measured by deal value or volume/units relative to the industry). • Experience with sales strategies & processes, GTM systems/related tools, and reporting. Location, Travel and Work Environment • Flexibility in remote work location • Must be authorized to work in country • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time. • Ability to work with different time zones (North America, South America, Europe, ME, India, Australia) • Compliance with the Ohmium Vaccination Policy.
